Applications: MOLSUL® PRE is a finely powdered, high-purity form of elemental sulphur used mainly as an active ingredient in topical dermatological formulations. It include creams, ointments, lotions, gels, suspensions and medicated soaps. It is commonly used in formulations for acne, seborrhoeic dermatitis and superficial fungal infections. It has keratolytic properties, helping remove dead skin cells and excess keratin from the skin.

1 Description It occurs as very fine, pale yellow, amorphous or microcrystalline powder.
2 Identification
Test (A)
(A) It burns in the air to sulfur dioxide, which can be recognized by its characteristic odor.
3 Solubility It is very soluble in carbon disulfide; slightly soluble in olive oil; very slightly soluble in alcohol; practically insoluble in water.
4 Other Forms Of Sulfur It dissolves quickly, with the exception of a small quantity of insoluble matter that is usually present.
5 Residue On Ignition Not more than 0.3%.
6 Water Determination Not more than 0.5%.
7 Reaction The filtrate is neutral to litmus.
8 Assay Not less than 99.5% and not more than 100.5% on the anhydrous basis.

PACKAGING

MOLSUL® PRE is packed in HDPE bag or HDPE drum with double PE liners inside having bar-coded label and tamper-evident seal.

SHELF LIFE, STORAGE AND PACKING

The shelf life is 5 years. Preserve in well-closed containers.
